Smartphone 20 Years Old

This week is the 20th birthday of the smartphone.It was called IBM Simon.The smartphone has one hour’s battery life-so it wasn’t very successful.

I think if we had these phones they wouldn’t be that useful.

Telecom Change Name To Spark!

Telecom has officially changed its name to Spark.On August 8th New Zealand’s largest  company rebranded itself. It is estimated that the name change will cost the company around $20 million.

Spark is one of the biggest companies in New Zealand.They have 6600 employees at the middle of last year, and is one of the countries largest investors in technology.

I’m not sure they really needed to spend all this money on changing their name.

A World Without Food?

A California inventor has created a formula which could make a world without food possible.The inventor,Rob Rhinehart has created a formula known as Soylent that provides the body with all the nutrients it needs to survive.Rob came up with the idea when he got tired with the high prices at the supermarkets.

40 different chemicals make up Soylent,and the formula is delivered as a powder in a sealed packet along with a bottle of oil.They are mixed together to create a thick liquid to drink.

People that have tried it have described the taste similar to oatmeal,batter or dough.Rob and his roommates raised $3,500,000 to help start producing Soylent.They sell the formula over their website.Soylent costs around $3 a meal which is cheaper than most meals made from solid food.Rob has been on Soylent for more than a year and only has solid food on special occasions such as dinner with friends.  

I don’t know whether to like this idea or not!?

Forever Young

A young girl wants her baby brother to stay little forever until she realizes he won’t be so little anymore.The video of the girl crying has gone everywhere on the internet.She also has a million views on Youtube.The little brother is watching his sister as she is crying for him and telling him how cute he is and to stay the way he is forever.

National Symbol Of Pakistan

I chose Pakistan for my national symbol.This national symbol shows a dark green field and represents the Muslim majority of Pakistan.Pakistan’s flag was made by Syed Ameer Uddin Kidwai.I like Pakistan's symbol because of the moon and star.

Hide And Stuck

An 11 year old girl was playing hide and seek with her cousins and thought she had found a good hiding spot in the washing machine. While she was in the washing machine she felt her legs go numb and she couldn't push herself out. She got really scared when the device that stirs the clothes was pushing against her chest and made it hard to breathe.

Her sister tried getting her out with butter,peanut butter and even ice to try to get her to slide out. The sister called their mum and she rushed home with the girls aunt.

The mother couldn't get her daughter out so she called 911 and the fire-fighters were sent.S he was in the washing machine for a few hours.

I don’t think that was the best place to hide...
